A Parent’s Guide to the Leatherby Libraries How to help your student make the most of one of the best resources at Chapman University!
February 15, 2021
Parent Spring Summit 2021 will be held virtually, giving all of the colleges and departments at Chapman University the chance to show parents all of the remarkable remote resources that are available for their students. Here at the Leatherby Libraries, we’re especially excited to offer Chapman University parents some special insight into how they can help their students, especially first-year students, make the most of all of the resources that the Leatherby Libraries has to offer!
The Leatherby Libraries at Chapman University is much more than a physical space. It is a unifying presence on the Chapman campus that provides personalized services and relevant collections in support of the curricular, creative, and scholarly needs of students, faculty, staff and community.
At the Leatherby Libraries, your student can…
RESEARCH a better paper or research project with help from a subject librarian.
Get ACCESS to articles, e-books, and other content through our wide variety of online databases.
Stream FILMS for their classes through one of our streaming services.
Receive HELP in starting their research from one of our reference librarians via live chat, email, or phone.
When your student says…
“I don’t know how to get started on my research paper.”
You can schedule an Individual Research Consultation (IRC) with one of our subject librarians or chat with a reference librarian at chapman.edu/library/services/ask-a-librarian.aspx. Our librarians help with every stage of the research process.
“I don’t know how to find an article or e-book.”
You can use the “Start Your Search” bar on the library’s website, to look up and locate electronic books, journal articles, and more.
“I feel lost trying to learn remotely.”
The Leatherby Libraries “Online Teaching and Learning Guide” offers a wealth of resources to assist with the unique challengers of online learning.
