The Leatherby Libraries highlights the importance of the 1787 signing of the United States Constitution. We celebrate this historic day by learning and sharing some of our collection’s many educational books on the Constitution.

Titles such as The Development of the American Constitution, which focuses on the various phases of the Constitution’s progression, and The Heritage Guide to the Constitution, which provides a line-by-line analysis that will help the students dissect and understand the Constitution as the source of our basic rights. This display will inspire students to understand, question, and debate critical issues of our day.  These publications are available for check out from the Leatherby Libraries, so please inquire at the Circulation or Reference Desk for assistance.

The complete bibliography for the display can be viewed in Chapman’s Digital Commons.

Stop by to browse the books or pick up a free copy of the Constitution and/or an American Flag.

This display was created in collaboration with the Argyros Forum Student Union and the Dean of Students at Chapman University. Special thanks to Dr. Ronald Steiner for his help with the curation of the display.

The books will remain on display through the end of September 2022.
