Connect to Knowledge: Two New Primary Source Collections from ProQuest Reap the Rewards with these Resources
July 1, 2024
The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer access to two new primary source collections from ProQuest: Black Thought and Culture and Latinx Thought and Culture: The NPR Archive, 1979-1990.
Black Thought and Culture is a comprehensive collection spanning over 100,000 pages of non-fiction writings by prominent Black American leaders dating back to 1841. It includes letters, speeches, prefatory essays, political leaflets, interviews, periodicals, and trial transcripts by teachers, artists, politicians, religious leaders, athletes, war veterans, entertainers, and other figures throughout history.
Latinx Thought and Culture: The NPR Archive, 1979-1990 showcases two radio programs: the weekly Spanish-language Enfoque Nacional (1979-1988) and the Daily English-language Latin File (1988-1990). These audio files and transcripts delve into various Latinx issues, including politics, sociology, human rights, and the arts. They feature interviews with key figures and news reporting by Latinx journalists.
