Chapman Authors Can Now Publish Open Access Research for Free or Discounted Rates in Sage Journals

The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to announce that Chapman University has joined a three-year read-and-publish agreement with Sage. This agreement allows Chapman-affiliated authors to publish their articles Open Access in Sage’s journals at no or reduced cost to themselves for articles accepted between January 2026 and December 2028.
This agreement fully covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) (i.e., Open Access publication fees) for Chapman authors who have had their research articles accepted for publication in Sage’s hybrid journals. It also provides a discounted APC for Chapman authors publishing in one of Sage’s fully OA (gold) journals.
To be eligible, articles must:
- Be accepted for publication in any of Sage’s 1,200+ hybrid journals or 200+ Gold (i.e., fully OA) journals during the term of the agreement.
- Have a corresponding author whose primary affiliation is with Chapman University (i.e., researcher, professor, adjunct faculty member, lecturer, graduate or undergraduate student).
