Spring Orientation 2018 The Leatherby Libraries welcomes new students!
February 5, 2018
The Leatherby Libraries is excited to welcome new students this spring semester!
Throughout Spring Orientation 2018 students learned more about upcoming library events, explored library resources, and joined us for an afternoon tour.
At the Resource Fair, students and parents stopped by the library table to learn about events and opportunities such as our Annual Book Sale, the Interstices 2018 Book Club, and the Kevin and Tam Ross Undergraduate Research Prize, and other resources available throughout semester.
Later in the day, at the “Academic Resources” panel, library student worker, Kenzie Saleh introduced the library and the library information video to the audience, and highlighted how the library supports students in their research in her presentation. At the “Academic Partnerships” panel, Coordinator of Library Development, Essraa Nawar, spoke to parents about how the library contributes to students’ academic success.
Library activities concluded with “The Amazing Panther Race,” an interactive tour of the Leatherby Libraries that introduced students to key locations and resources within the building while encouraging participation. Students had the opportunity to win library swag and a grand raffle prize at the end of the tour.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Spring Orientation! The Leatherby Libraries looks forward to another great semester of helping students achieve their academic goals.
