Chapman University School of Pharmacy is proud to recognize two exceptional alumni who have distinguished themselves through leadership and service to the pharmacy profession. Presented at this year’s White Coat Ceremony reception, Dean Ostrom awarded Sara Kurd-Misto, Pharm.D. with the Distinguished Service Award and Dustin Le, Pharm.D. with the Alumni Leadership Award.
Alumni Distinguished Service Award: Sara Kurd-Misto, Pharm.D.

Sara Kurd-Misto, Pharm.D.,(‘23) is a pharmacist at Sharp Memorial Hospital. After graduating, Sara served on the Alumni Advisory Board from 2023 to 2026 and led the board as Chair for her final term. Throughout her service, she fostered innovation by expanding partnerships with student organizations, growing event attendance, and laying the groundwork for the Alumni Mentorship Program launching this fall. Sara has been an exceptional leader and valued member of the CUSP community, and we are grateful for all she has contributed to Chapman University School of Pharmacy. As we look toward what comes next, we are honored to announce that Sara will continue her service as the first-ever alumni representative with the Dean’s Professional Advisory Group.
Alumni Leadership Award: Dustin Le, Pharm.D
Dustin Le, Pharm.D. (‘20) is an assistant professor at CUSP
and Lead Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at CHOC, a level 1 pediatric trauma center, where he provides expert care for critically ill children. After graduating, Dustin has gone on to advance pharmacy practice in numerous ways, improving patient care through his work on chemotherapy safety, opioid stewardship, and clinical improvement. As a bilingual Vietnamese-speaking pharmacist, he also delivers culturally responsive care that improves health literacy for diverse patient populations. Nominated by the CUSP community, Dustin embodies the finest values of the School of Pharmacy and serves as a valuable role model for emerging pharmacists. We are honored to recognize him for his leadership and service to the public.
