A new Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) professor has been a leader in the study of Cardiovascular disorders that are a prevalent problem in our society. Dr. Nauli’s research studies are designed to provide exciting and original concepts to examine the etiologies of hypertension and vascular disorder (such as aneurysm) with regard to mechanosensory organelles (primary cilia). Through this funded grant titled “The Roles of Primary Cilia in Cardiovascular System”, he aims at investigating new ideas in understanding hypertension and aneurysm in polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Within PKD, his proposal will explore whether untreated hypertension can worsen kidney function.
