The COVID-19 Faculty Excellence Task Force, Faculty Senate Executive Board, Vice President for Research and the Provost, are pleased to announce the availability of funds to advance research, scholarship and creative activity for those most impacted from COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted faculty members at Chapman University in ways that have important implications for excellence in scholarly and creative activity. Importantly, these effects have been unequally distributed across faculty members depending on such factors as discipline, research methodology, and caregiving status (among others).

The establishment of the Faculty COVID-19 Impact Fund – Advancing Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activity is meant to stimulate scholarly and creative activity among those faculty members who have experienced substantial obstacles during the pandemic. All Chapman University faculty with scholarly and/or creative activity expectations for merit/promotion who are continuing full-time faculty during the 2020-2021 academic year are eligible. Priority will be given to tenure-track faculty. Individual awards will be provided up to $5,000 for a one-year period with a total of $100,000 available for the program depending on the need of faculty and the quality of proposals. Applications are due May 7th, 5PM. More information……
