. Kirsten Hirneisen, PhD, will present “Developing a Universal Enrichment Broth for Foodborne Bacterial Pathogens”.  Foodborne bacterial pathogens have been the cause of high profile outbreaks lately that have resulted in serious illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths. The talk will address how successful prevention of foodborne pathogens, as well as rapid and reliable detection methods need to be developed for testing of foods.

Each semester, Schmid College of Science and Technology hosts its Science Forum Series. Faculty and special guests present their latest research to the campus community. Each presentation is approximately 45 minutes to one hour in length. Feel free to drop in and leave as your schedule permits. Light refreshments will be served.
