Schmid College Graduating Class of 2019!

The Chapman Commencement weekend will be one you’ll remember for years to come. We’re excited to have all Chapman graduating students together on Wilson Field at Closing Convocation on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 7 p.m. Closing Convocation will honor your achievements and celebrate the work you’ve done in your time at Chapman University and Schmid College.

We strongly encourage all graduating students to attend the Closing Convocation. The Commencement Ceremony and Closing Convocation RSVP is open now. The last day to RSVP is April 15, 2019.

Schmid College Commencement CeremonySunday, May 19, at 8 a.m.

The Commencement Ceremony for Schmid College celebrates our graduates and your hard work throughout your educational career. Once the ceremony has concluded, we invite the graduates and their families to attend a reception on the Aitken Arts Plaza, located in front of the Musco Center for the Arts. Schmid College faculty and staff will be present to congratulate you, take photos and mingle with your families before you head off to your family/friend celebrations. 

Schmid College Senior Awards Banquet – Wednesday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m.

Schmid College holds its Senior Awards Banquet to recognize graduating seniors and student organizations, present department honors, and announce outstanding senior awards. We hope you will join us for this festive Schmid College tradition! Email invitations will be sent to the senior graduates.

Take advantage of your discipline’s end-of-year celebrations they may be holding. Use these opportunities to connect, commend each other on the mutual accomplishments throughout the year, and plan for the future.

Q: Who do I contact with questions about commencement?

Q: What time will the ceremony end?

A: The ceremony will end at 9 a.m. We invite our graduates and their families to attend a reception following the ceremony on the Aitken Arts Plaza, located in front of the Musco Center for the Arts. The reception will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.


Q: How many people can I bring to Closing Convocation? Commencement?

A: Students who RSVP for Closing Convocation will be allotted 4 tickets for your guests. Tickets are not required for students. Two extra tickets can be requested, but are not guaranteed. An email notification will be sent on May 10, 2019.

Commencement is free and open to all guests and family of students. Guest tickets are not required for commencement ceremonies and there is no limit on how many guests you may invite. Please note that seating is first come, first served. Seating is in folding chairs on artificial turf. Once the ceremony begins, empty seats must be made available to accommodate guests without seats.
