That event along the COP14 meeting served as a platform to inspire and facilitate information exchange among various stakeholders and partners involved in SDS related issues from policy and decision making, implementation, science, experts to field practitioners and local communities. The outcome of our discussions was input to COP deliberations on SDS and in other related fora. At the end of that SDS day, a UN lead Coalition for Combating Sand and Dust storms was launched.” – Dr. Hesham El-Askary
