Wilkinson College is excited to announce that the My Barrio Murals app is now available in the iTunes App Store!

It has truly been a pleasure working with Chapman Computer Science and Graphic Design student, Omar Sherief, on this component of the Getty PST: LA/LA My Barrio: Emigdio Vasquez and Chicana/o Identity in Orange County project. Many, many thanks to those of you who have contributed to the building of content and development of the app. Your generosity and enthusiasm for the project has been a truly positive force.” said Denise M. Johnson, Instructional Assistant Professor of Art in Wilkinson College.

Below is a video that Sherief created to showcase the app’s features. The My Barrio Murals app allows users to locate all known mural works by Emigdio Vasquez, search for murals by name and genre, and learn about the artist’s subjects. You’ll be able to map each work to see them in person, and maintain lists of the works you’d like to see, and have visited. The app also includes information on murals that have been destroyed.
