Affordable Care Act (need to understand it?)

Join the Crean School of Life and Health Sciences and the Wilkinson Sociology Department in a panel discussion on the effects of the Affordable Care Act on all Americans, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the William and Willa Dean Lyon Conference Center, Argyros Forum 209.
Three experts will discuss the meaning of the ACA (“ObamaCare”) for Americans, including those with and without health insurance, college students, women, families, the elderly, persons with disabilities, children — all of us.

Michael McKinnon, J.D., is a partner in the law firm of Greenberg Traurig where he focuses his practice on health care. He has lectured on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its impact on health care organizations of all types.
Terri Thorfinnson, J.D., is a senior level health policy consultant and former Chief of the Office of Women’s Health in the California Department of Health Care services and the California Department of Public Health.
Dr. Greg Buchert, M.D., MPH, is the former CEO of CalOptima, a large public health plan. A practicing physician, Dr. Buchert has been involved in all aspects of health care delivery including medical group management, hospital administration, and pediatric medicine.
