Content Animation I created!

Hi there! My name is Chloe Bobila, I am a junior, majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Law and Liberal Arts. I interned at Poddos Home LLC, a sustainable cleaning product company. I worked as their marketing intern, I worked closely with the brand’s Co-founder to create outreach teams in order to maintain influencer partnerships and support digital marketing initiatives. My time at Poddos LLC was a vital opportunity for me to gain experience in digital marketing and gain confidence in my professional self-development.
Poddos Home LLC was founded by my close friend and his brother, who is a lifestyle influencer on TikTok and Instagram, with close to a million followers across all platforms. I remember when my friend initially told me about his idea to start a sustainable cleaning product, and I was more excited to help contribute to a company whos mission statement i strongly believed in. I reached out and expressed my excitement about the company s influencer outreach and after a formal conversation with the co-founders about their company goals and expectations, I was given the opportunity to work for them.
My tasks at Poddos Home LLC included researching micro-influencers on Tiktok and Instagram, creating emails and securing collaboration. I also analyzed influencer audience engagement, and helped create animated content ideas for the brand to post on their social media pages. Over the course of my internship, I created tracking system to help make our outreach process more organized ensuring that no potential partnership was overlooked.

One of my favorite parts about my time at Poddos was creating animated content ideas. Poddos has a mascot on the packaging of its content, and I loved creating scenarios that could bring their character to life. I worked on short story content ideas that were playful and humorous and showed the Poddos character using company products in everyday home settings. I received positive feedback from my supervisor on my content ideas and seeing them come to life was very fulfilling.

My coursework at Chapman greatly benefited me at Poddos Home LLC. Classes such as Theories of Persuasion and Gender and Communication helped me succeed. In my Theories of Persuasion class I learned about Pathos, Ethos and Logos which helped me create compelling messages for potential influencer partners. My Gender and Communication course reminded me of the importance of inclusivity and diversity. I became more intentional when choosing influencers because of these classes.

This is the Podos Instagram I was able to work with.

My most valuable takeaway while working at Poddos Home LLC was learning how to balance creativity and structure. The company structure at Poddos was fairly autonomous, so I had to be highly organized and result-driven while maintaining creativity. This gave me the freedom to take initiative when creating content and reaching out to influencers, while still planning strategically to measure goals, create calendars for content and assess audience engagement. It taught me that creativity also needs to have a strong structure, and this application of communication strategy gave me the confidence when pursuing my future endeavors. If I could offer one piece of advice to students who are interested in digital influencer marketing, your voice matters, do not be afraid to share your creative thoughts and ideas. Poddos Home LLC gave me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and I would recommend this experience to anyone who is ready to learn by doing.
