You’ve landed the internship. You’ve navigated the late-night study sessions, the networking events, and the “what do you want to do with a communication degree?” questions from every holiday dinner table. You’ve built real skills, made real connections, and done real work.
So why isn’t anyone talking about it?
The School of Communication wants to change that — and we want to start with you.
What Is the Social Media Spotlight?
The SoC Social Media Spotlight is our way of putting a face (and a story) to everything that makes Chapman’s School of Communication special. We’re looking for current students and alumni who want to share their experiences across our social media platforms, including Instagram features, Reels, TikToks, and more.
Whether you landed a competitive PR internship in Los Angeles, pivoted into a role you never expected, or simply want to share what it’s like to be a Communication Studies major at Chapman, we want to hear from you.
What Can You Be Featured For?
There’s no one-size-fits-all story here. We’re looking for students and alumni across all of these areas:
- Internship Spotlight- Tell us about your internship: what you did, what you learned, and how Chapman prepared you for it.
- Job Spotlight- Recent grad with a career win? We want to celebrate it.
- School of Communication Testimonial- What has your experience in SoC meant to you? What would you tell a prospective student?
- Reels & TikTok Content- Interested in being on camera and helping us create engaging content? We’re especially looking for students excited about this.
- General Social Media Spotlight- Have something unique to share that doesn’t fit neatly into a category? Tell us anyway.
Why Sign Up?
Here’s the honest answer: your story helps everyone.
Prospective students searching for “Chapman University School of Communication internship experiences” or “what is it like to study communication at Chapman” are looking for exactly what you have: a real account from a real student. When you share your story, you’re not just getting a feature; you’re becoming part of the resource that helps the next generation of SoC students find their place here.
And on a personal level? A feature on the SoC’s platforms is a piece of content you can link to, share with employers, and point to as evidence of your communication skills in action. That’s not nothing.
How It Works
It’s simple:
- Fill out the interest form (link below- it takes less than 5 minutes).
- Tell us a little about your experience and what you’d like to highlight.
- If your story is a fit, someone from our team will reach out to move forward.
📌 Note: Filling out the form does not guarantee that your content will be posted. This is an interest form, but it’s the first step, so don’t wait.
