Lynda.com announced a large scale data breach earlier this week and has contacted 9.5 million users to inform them that user contact information and details of viewed courses may have been accessed. Also, about 55,000 passwords were also breached and that affected passwords were reset by Lynda.com ‘as a precautionary measure’.lynda-website

At this time, we know that Chapman University user account passwords have not been affected by this massive breach. However, some account activity information may have been exposed.  We are currently working with Lynda.com to get more information and will update this post when more information becomes available.  In the mean time we at IS&T encourage all users to consider resetting their passwords as precautionary measure. Especially during the season of “Mega Breaches”, it is good practice to change passwords more frequently.

If you are interested in updating your Chapman University password, please visit chapman.edu/password and follow the instructions for resetting your password.  If you would like some help with resetting your password, please call our IS&T Service Desk at (714) 997-6600.
