On January 28, 2019, Chapman University will officially announce its commitment as a #PrivacyAware “Champion.” Data Privacy Day is recognized by universities and business around the world and Chapman University celebrates being an institution that encourages individuals as well as organizations to be mindful administrators of our information online.

In recognition of Data Privacy Day, Chapman University reemphasizes the common goal as a community in improving individual as well as business consciousness in respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust. As a #PrivacyAware Champion, Chapman University wants to give you ideas on how you can become a Champion.

What Can You Do?

At home, be aware of how personal information is shared and collected through the many sites and apps we use. Before you post content online, be mindful of what you are uploading, who may have access, and if there is possibility of it affecting you in the future. While at work, stay up to date on the latest security software, web browsers, and operating systems. This is the best way to protect yourself against viruses and other online threats.

As a community, we can share our data security knowledge by volunteering at local schools, senior care facilities, or non-profit organizations.
