Reflecting on
Staff Summit Week 2016
, the Leatherby Libraries would like to thank all staff who attended our successful events! The Leatherby Libraries was well-represented this year with several compelling talks and entertaining celebrations. Congrats to Brett Fisher, Chair of the Library Systems & Technology Division Librarian, who took third place in the Wellness Slogan contest at the Kick Off Celebration.

Tuesday

On both Tuesday and Wednesday, Dean Charlene Baldwin met with staff members for her event, the Leatherby Libraries “
Treasures
” tour. The tour group had a chance to interact with history and scholarship at a more immediate level by looking at the many acquisitions within the library and hear Dean Baldwin’s many stories about the library’s collections. After the tour, the group was able to mingle and receive complementary library gear.

Later on Tuesday, staff met Jessica Bower, Assistant Librarian, and Lauren Menges, Archivist, for a workshop. 18 staff members from 14 different departments attended the ”
Library Services and Resources for Staff
” workshop where they learned what their library privileges could do for them at the Leatherby Libraries. The informative session also taught about the collections, databases, programming, and other library “perks” offered staff members of Chapman University. “We really enjoyed giving a session for Staff Summit Week,” says Lauren. “Attendance was great and everyone was engaged and interested in learning about the library. It’s always fun encouraging people to wander in to the Leatherby Libraries!”
