Along with our new Curbside Pick-Up and Document Delivery services, the Leatherby Libraries is proud to continue to offer service to streaming video resources like Kanopy and Swank Digital Campus to support instruction and research at Chapman University. Through Kanopy, Chapman students, faculty, and staff have access to films and documentaries from the Criterion Collection, Kino Lorber, The Great Courses, and Psychotherapy.net. Through Swank Digital Campus, our users have access to the top 1,000 most-requested films on the platform from top studios such as Warner Bros., Columbia Pictures, Lionsgate, MGM, Miramax, and more.

On both platforms, faculty may request that the library individually license additional films from outside of the four suppliers (in Kanopy) or top 1,000 list (in Swank). However, in order to serve the greatest number of faculty and courses at Chapman University, we have had to initiate some limits to the number of additional films that each faculty member can request per semester:

  • Dodge College of Film and Media Arts faculty may request up to 5 films each semester.
  • Non-Dodge faculty teaching a film-subject course may request 4 films each semester.
  • All other faculty may request 2 films per semester.

To read more details, learn how to request videos, or find information about exceptions, please see the full announcement on the library’s homepage here.

Access to our other streaming video sources, many of which are highlighted on our Library Content for Teaching and Learning guide, remains unaffected.
