If you didn’t get a chance to attend last week’s Cecil Awards ceremony, just before our awesome 2013 Commencement Ceremony,  you may have missed some of the most exciting news of the school year: the big winners of the student awards, including the coveted Dean’s Award!Every year, the faculty in each division pore through hundreds of student works, somehow culling the list of our amazingly talented student body to a razor-sharp group of 4 projects in each category to be nominated for the top prize in each discipline.

After an exhaustive and comprehensive review, faculty, division chairs, and the Deans, combine their combined-centuries of experience to pick a single winner for each award, revealed in the epic year-end ceremony named for legendary Cecil B. DeMille.  Modeled after the nation’s most highly watched awards ceremony, the Academy Awards, it’s a grueling process — and a job I’m not envious of! — but in the end, we arrive at the cream of the crop in terms of our student body.
