A 43-year-old man once sentenced to life in prison struggles to gain a sense of normalcy upon his early release during a pandemic.

BISBEE ALWAYS SURVIVES by Hailey Leonard, Valentina Riffel, Isabel Roney, & Silvia Ren
This historical documentary parallels the influenza pandemic of 1918 with the COVID-19 pandemic in Bisbee, Arizona, and shows how the town’s reflection on its past as a fragmented mining town allows it to better face its problems as a united community in the present.
