The Research Computing Department at Chapman University manages and utilizes the university’s shared supercomputers and other computational systems. This department mainly supports faculty members and graduate students who need high-performance computing resources for specialized applications typically specific to their academic disciplines.

Our computational resources include two main clusters equipped with CPU and GPU nodes and a variety of smaller machines located throughout the campus. These facilities are designed to meet our users’ diverse and demanding needs in processing large datasets, conducting complex simulations, and performing high-level computations.

Chapman University offers several options for data storage needs, which can be explored in detail on the Chapman University Research Technology Support Storage and Backup information page. A notable addition to our services is the bulk storage solution, priced competitively at $50 per terabyte per year, specifically tailored for the Chapman community.

Furthermore, we are committed to enhancing user skills and knowledge by providing monthly hands-on workshops. These sessions are designed to accommodate users at all levels of expertise, from beginners to advanced practitioners, ensuring everyone can effectively utilize the computing resources available at Chapman University.
