Important Changes to Creative Tools: Adobe and Canva
July 10, 2025
As part of our commitment to providing powerful, user-friendly resources for design and communication, Chapman University is offering Canva Pro to all students. A limited number of licenses is also available to faculty and staff upon request. Additionally, we are changing Adobe Creative Cloud’s licensing structure based on a review of current usage.
Canva Pro
Canva Pro is an intuitive, all-in-one design platform that makes creating presentations, social media graphics, videos, and posters easier. It’s especially popular among students and staff for its simplicity, professional templates, and collaborative features. With this new access, you’ll no longer need to purchase your own Canva Pro licenses.
Changes to Adobe Licensing
To better align with actual usage and accommodate the addition of new tools like Canva, Chapman University is no longer providing a full Creative Cloud Suite license to all students, faculty, or staff; however, those students, faculty members, and staff who need it are welcome to request a license. Adobe Express (web) is still being offered to everyone by default.
Students Licensing Information
- Canva is automatically available to all students. All you have to do is log in with your Chapman account. Please review the login steps. You also have access to Adobe Express.
- Full Creative Cloud Suite application licenses (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, etc.) are available for those students who need the software to complete course requirements.
