The Leatherby Libraries is thrilled to announce the 16th Annual Community of Readers (CoR) beginning on June 3, 2024, and ending on August 22, 2024.

CoR is a summer reading program encouraging Chapman students, staff, faculty, and alums to explore the Leatherby Libraries catalog. The Leatherby Libraries created this program to promote reading across all genres and to provide a space for readers to come together for discussions. Anyone with borrowing privileges at the Leatherby Libraries is welcome to join CoR. Not only will this program help you complete your reading challenge on Goodreads, but you can also earn book-themed prizes!

The rules are simple:

  1. Select a book owned by the Leatherby Libraries. It can be a physical book from our catalog or one of our many e-books! (You can search the library catalog to find an eligible book.)
  2. Read your selection.
  3. Write a 2-3 sentence review of the book on the Community of Readers Blog.
  4. Win prizes! Every review you complete enters you into the drawing for a prize of the month. The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

Meetings will occur at noon on June 27, July 18, and August 22. Prize drawings will also happen at these meetings. The August 22nd meeting will conclude the program for the year with a lunch celebration provided for all participants and remarks from the Dean of the Leatherby Libraries, Dr. Kevin Ross.

If you are interested in attending any of these meetings, please  RSVP hereThe in-person meeting for this event will take place in LL420 on the fourth floor of the Leatherby Libraries. A virtual option is available for this event. Those interested in attending virtually may RSVP using the link above and will receive an email with the zoom link.
