This week, the Chapman community awaits a very important event in the history of the university. Last September, it was announced that President Jim Doti would be stepping down after twenty-five years, promoting Chancellor Daniele Struppa to the new president of the university. On Friday, September 30, Dr. Struppa will be inaugurated into his new role and the entire campus is celebrating. Welcoming the new president, Chapman University and the Leatherby Libraries are happy to present to the community a full display on the first floor of the building, highlighting achievements and advancements to the university during his chancellorship.

The panels highlight key accomplishments, life milestones and the scholarly achievements of incoming President Daniele C. Struppa. The exhibit also celebrates the achievements of each college at Chapman under his leadership. One panel also includes the wonderful relationships he has built with both the Leatherby Libraries and the Fish Interfaith Center. Furthermore, the calendar of events celebrating Struppa’s inauguration week is listed with ample information for people visiting campus during this week. The display additionally illustrates the various Chapman University boards, the strong and gracious community of donors and trustees, and last but not least what the future holds for the University and the campus community.

The Leatherby Libraries is proud and excited to be the home of this celebratory display and can’t wait to see what President Struppa will bring to the future of our amazing University. While visiting this exhibit, make sure to go upstairs to the Frank Mt. Pleasant Special Collections and Archives to explore a unique exhibit on the past presidents of Chapman and the university’s history, “The Spirit of Our Leaders: Presidents of Chapman University.”

You can view the Struppa Display on the first floor of the Leatherby Libraries throughout the rest of the semester.
