Dr. Amy Kang has been appointed to the Board of Pharmacy Specialties’ (BPS) Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Specialty Council. Her appointment to this council will span a three year term (2025-2027), during which time she will provide recommendations on national Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Specialty certification and recertification standards and developing examination content.
“Being appointed to this committee is an honor, and I look forward to serving the body and impacting patients on a national level,” says Dr. Amy Kang, who has been with CUSP as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice since July 1, 2018. Dr. Kang’s letter of invitation noted her excellence in her specialty, communication skills, and impressive previous experience.
Dr. Kang’s dedication to furthering the broader field of pharmacy is evident in her appointment to this leadership role. As the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Rennolds Ostrom said that this “appointment is validation of the reputation Dr. Kang has built as both a clinician and researcher in the field of infectious disease pharmacy.” Her research expertise in the fields of infectious diseases and bacterial resistance in conjunction with her excellent teamwork skills will serve her well in her role on this committee.
