The Alpha Beta Chi Chapter of
Pi Sigma Alpha
, the National Political Science Honor Society, is inviting nationally known professor, Dr. Lynn Vavreck, who will lecture on political campaigns, elections, as well as provide a critical analysis of the 2012 Presidential Election.
Dr. Vavreck will present the Annual Pi Sigma Alpha Lecture:
“The 2012 Presidential Election: Did the campaigns really matter?” at Chapman University on February 19, 2013 at 7pm in AF 209 A-C.
Dr. Vavreck is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition to UCLA, Dr. Vavreck has worked at the White House, Dartmouth College, and Princeton University. Her research focuses on the effects of political campaigns, particularly the role that stable structural conditions like the nation’s economy and partisanship play in light of campaign activities like candidate advertising, stump speeches, and candidate visits.
Free and open to all Chapman and Orange community. Given her expertise in campaigns and elections, as well as her recent publications on the topic, we believe she would provide an invaluable perspective for our students and faculty.
