Tabula Poetica is kicking off it’s Poetry Reading Series on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 with Maureen Alsop, author of the novel
Mantic
.
Alsop’s talk, “The Flowering Self, Smaller, Frozen: Portals, Self-Portrayal” will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Wilkinson Chapel, Fish Interfaith Center, followed by a poetry reading at 7 p.m. in the Henley Reading Room, Leatherby Libraries.
About the author: Maureen Alsop is the author of two full collections of poetry,
Mantic
and
Apparition Wren
. She is the winner of
Harpur Palate’
s Milton Kessler Memorial Prize for Poetry and
The Bitter Oleander’
s Frances Locke Memorial Poetry Award. Her poems have appeared in various journals including
The Laurel Review, AGNI, Blackbird, Tampa Review, Action Yes, Drunken Boat,
and
The Kenyon Review.
