You’re invited to an interfaith service of remembrance for Kristallnacht on Thursday, November 9 in the Fish Interfaith Center, which will include a conversation with Holocaust Survivor and witness to Kristallnacht, Engelina Billauer. The talk will be moderated by Dr. Marilyn Harran Director, Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education and Stern Chair, Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Chapman University, will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Kristallnacht, literally, “Night of Crystal,” is often referred to as the “Night of Broken Glass.” The name refers to the wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms which took place on November 9 and 10, 1938. This wave of violence took place throughout Germany, annexed Austria, and in areas of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia recently occupied by German troops.
