Dr. Kelli Fuery

The Center for Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI), housed in Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, is proud to announce that it has just secured a major book series contract with Bloomsbury Press. Dr. Patrick Fuery (CCI) and Dr. Kelli Fuery (CCI) will be the series editors for a collection of books exploring CCI from new perspectives. CCI is ‘naturally’ interdisciplinary, and this series will look at the interconnections between the established disciplines (film and media, museums, fashion, music, dance, design, etc.) as well as the newer areas (AI, social media, creative placemaking, gaming, creative thinking), asking the question ‘where is CCI headed?’

“We are very proud of this as it will dynamically elevate the Center for CCI as a key research player in a wide range of disciplines at national and global levels. We have already lined up some of the major authors in the fields covered by CCI from across the world, including the US, UK, France, China, Australia, Italy, Denmark, Singapore, Spain, Canada, and the Global South,” said Dr. P. Fuery.

The key objects of the series are to:

  • Provide an innovative introduction to the study of CCI, Explore the importance of creative/divergent thinking as it has been produced in specific creative and cultural institutions.
  • Promote a market for CCI studies in the United States.
  • Investigate the relationship between creative/cultural institutions and key social issues and ideas.

Dr. Patrick Fuery

The books will be aimed at a wide audience, including academics and students, as well as the general population, an opportunity to raise awareness of the program, attracting both researchers and students to engage with the ideas and dynamic thinking involved in CCI.

“What is unique about the series is that it will reimagine what CCI is and what it might become. We will develop a range of books examining key issues in CCI, how it is changing as a disciplinary field, and how it has been addressing the major issues facing the world in the 21st Century,” said Dr. P. Fuery.

The pair see editing this book series as a major step in the Center for Cultural and Creative Industries becoming a globally identified research center by raising national and international awareness of what CCI is and its significance to society.
