Poster for Austin Unbound
On Tuesday, April 2, 2013 Green Soda Productions present
“Austin Unbound: A Deaf Journey of Transgender Heroism
” a film screening in Argryos Forum Ballroom at 7 p.m.

Austin Unbound is a film by Eliza Greenwood about a young man’s deafness, that may appear to be his disability, but isn’t what makes him self-conscious. Burdened by female anatomy, he binds his chest every day. While his mother strives to accept his male identity, Austin’s community views him as a pioneer. A natural comedian and romantic, Austin’s courageous journey is shared through personal reflections and into the operating room. The film portrays Austin’s Deaf experience in full cinematic effect, the music a portal to his world.

Austin Unbound won an award “Best Film that Breaks Down Stereotypes” at the Breaking Down Barriers (Disability) Film Festival.

This event is free and open to the public.
