In coordination with
Money Smart Week
, Jessica Bower, Leatherby Libraries’ Coordinator of Interlibrary Loan, has created a display behind the first floor reference desk. “Created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002, Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances.” Within the display are books promoting financial literacy programming, described by the ALA as a “guidance in basic budgeting, college financing, retirement planning, investing in a mortgage and even protection from identity theft.” As college students approaching graduation, it is important to both knowledgeable and accountable for your own finances. Take a look at these selected books and you’ll certainly feel you’re doing the whole grown-up thing right.
