Colliding Worlds with David Michael Lee
August 30, 2012
David Michael Lee, of the Art Department, wears many art hats -innovative curator, art instructor, abstract painter. Lee’s work draws from many influences, experiences and methodologies. Among his many bodies is his latest showing of hard edge geometric abstraction. Beginning September 8th, Lee’s work will be featured at Brett Rubbico Gallery, Newport Beach California.
Born in 1959, Edward Lentsch is a multi-faceted artist – an author, architectural builder and designer, inventor, entrepreneur and founding member of the Minneapolis based Artist League. His work is inspired by mysticism, astronomy and quantum physics. Lentsch renders richly textured organic surfaces that bring to mind the vastness of space or ancient ruins of this world. Lentsch views his work as a multi-dimensional formation of complex relationships and that, ultimately, produces an object. “In fact, the value of the object lies in its ability to be something unique and remarkable as an object” states Mr. Lentsch.
Canadian-born Luc Bernard established himself as an encaustic painter and his work reaches into a unique form of abstraction. Bernard’s paintings have explored color and texture in oils and sumi ink. His work brings richness in color and contrast with his continued push towards abstraction.
