Chapman University is pleased to be hosting the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Alumni Association, 3rd Multidisciplinary Science Forum on February 1, 2013 in Sandhu Conference Center, D & D1.
The JSPS is an independent administrative institution, established by way of a national law for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science in all fields of the natural and social sciences, and the humanities. JSPS plays a pivotal role in the administration of a wide spectrum of Japan’s scientific and academic programs.
The 2013 Multidisciplinary Science Forum will be held by the U.S. JSPS Fellows Alumni Association. The event will feature a keynote address by 2002 Economics Noble Laureate, Dr. Vernon Smith. Dr. Smith will give a lecture titled, “Adam Smith: From Propriety and Sentiments to Property and Wealth” at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and introductory remarks being at 9 a.m. Presentations will be given on research spanning across disciplines including engineering, economics, environmental sciences, medicine, and social science. In addition to the forum, a luncheon is planned to raise funds for the continued support of the Japanese earthquake recovery.
