Empowering Muslim Women, March 5
February 28, 2013
Did you know Muslim women were empowered more than 1,400 years ago with rights to education, inheritance, and the freedom of marriage and divorce?
Want to know more about Muslim women and their views? If so, then you are invited to an event where common misconceptions relating to women in Islam are unveiled by Mrs. Lobna Youssef Mulla on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Doy and Dee Henley Reading Room of the Leatherby Libraries, 2nd Floor.
During the presentation, you will be able to browse the newly created display at the Leatherby Libraries titled, “Empowering Muslim Women.” This display showcases examples of powerful Muslim women throughout history from the early times of Islam to the contemporary world.
