Students Present Their Projects to City Officials
August 7, 2014
Assistant Professor in Sociology in Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Georgiana Bosteanjust, recently taught a Geographic Information System course (GIS), working with the City of Orange.
Wilkinson students in her course were fortunate enough to take a field trip to the city’s GIS office to meet City GIS officials and see how their system actually works in a day-to-day situation.
A GIS computer system is designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data.
Students presented their final projects to the officials, which were about environment and health issues in the City of Orange and Orange County.
