are pleased to be hosting Jonathan Fox from Bar Ilan University in a lecture titled,
The Religious Wave: Religion and Civil War 1960 to 2013,
on Monday, February 16, 2015 at noon – 1 p.m. in the Laura Scudder Conference Room in Roosevelt Hall.
This talk will combine theoretical perspectives on religious conflict with empirical evidence on the extent of religious civil wars between 1960 and 2013. He will begin the discussion with the surprisingly contentious topic of how religious conflict is defined. The discussion will also include an examination of the extent to which Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups participate in civil wars in general as well as religious civil wars.
Mr. Fox is free the remainder of the day if any faculty or students would like to meet with him.
