WordTheatre at Chapman University Presents Author Ann Beattie on Sept. 21

WordTheatre’s 2015 fall series at Chapman University brings America’s finest short story writers to Orange for celebrity and student performances.
On Monday, September 21, Hollywood actors –Joely Fisher (known for her roles in the film The Mask and TV shows such as Ellen, Last Man Standing, and Desperate Housewives) and Christopher Gorham (known for Covert Affairs, Popular and Justice League: War) and Chapman Theater Major, Kiera Quealy (’17), will bring to life acclaimed short stories by author Ann Beattie.
“Ann Beattie is one of America’s truly iconic writers. She stands along with John Updike, Raymond Carver, Eudora Welty, Flannery O’Connor, and Grace Paley, as a major contributor to the art of the modern short story. And her novels are among the best we have,” said Chapman University Creative Writer Professor Richard Bausch.
Performances will take place at 8 p.m. in the Fish Interfaith Center at Chapman University.
