Professor Magliola’s talk will focus on the Catholic Trope of Mary the Vanquisher Cast in Tibetan Vajrayana Mode, while giving a mediation demonstration for all attending.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Robert Magliola, who first became known as a specialist in hermeneutics and deconstruction (Purdue U. and National Taiwan U.), has for the last twenty-one years focused on Buddhist-Catholic Dialogue. He is a longtime Ch’an(Chinese Zen) and Vajrayanapractitioner, and is certified by Vangeloe Zento teach Catholic meditation in Oriental Form to Catholic clergy and laity. He has published four books: Phenomenology and Literature(Purdue UP); Derrida on the Mend (Purdue UP); On Deconstructing Life-Worlds: Buddhism, Christianity, Culture (Scholars P. of AAR; Oxford UP); Facing Up to Real Doctrinal Difference: How Some Thought-Motifs from Derrida Can Nourish the Catholic-Buddhist Encounter(Angelico P.).
