is proud to present, special guest speaker (and author), Andrew Bacevich, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Lyon Conference Center, Argyros Forum 209, in a lecture titled, America’s War For The Greater Middle East.
Professor Bacevich is an American historian specializing in international relations, security studies, American foreign policy, and American diplomatic and military history and will speak about his new book
America’s War for the Greater Middle East
.
Bacevich’s bestseller,
Washington Rules
, is a critique of the country’s military-industrial complex. In his previous book,
The Limits of Power
, he deconstructed decades of disastrous foreign policies. His other books include,
The New American Militarism: How Americans Are Seduced by War
and
American Empire: The Realities and Consequences of U. S. Diplomacy
.
Professor Bacevich holds a Ph.D in American diplomatic history from Princeton University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and has held posts in Germany and the Persian Gulf; he retired, as a colonel, in the early 1990s.
