Defining Mexico’s Drug War Civil War, Counter Insurgency, Or Mafia State?

Wilkinson College, along with the History Department, MA Program in War and Society, Religious Studies Department and the Fish Interfaith Center present James Fredrick- on Tuesday, March 27 at 4 p.m. in the Wallace All Faiths Chapel.
Mr. Fredrick is a freelance multimedia journalist in Mexico and his talk, Defining Mexico’s Drug War will be about the ins and outs of the Mexican narco-experience. Fredrick’s reportage on various topics in Mexico have appeared in the Financial Times, the Telegraph, and the Guardian, and his media pieces have aired regularly on NPR and PBS. Fredrick’s presentation: “Defining Mexico’s Drug War: Civil War, Counter Insurgency, or Mafia State?” will engage on the hard-core reality of Mexico’s narco-violence, and particularly its challenges to traditional notions of warfare.
