Chapman University alumni honored with Emmy nominations for news, primetime work

A whole cast of Chapman University alumni were among the television industry notables honored with Primetime Emmy nominations this month.
Nominated were:
- Kent Bassett (MFA/FP ’08), Outstanding Picture Editing For Reality Programming category for his work as part of the editing team on “Top Chef.”
- Darren Bunkley ’98, Outstanding Reality – Competition Program category for “The Amazing Race.” Bunkley is a supervising producer on the show and was nominated for his work on the producing team.
- Laura Jones ’08, Outstanding Special Visual Effects category for “Once Upon a Time.” Jones is a visual effects producer for the show.
And Sharaf Mowjood, ’05 Peace Studies and film, was part of the team that reported and produced the NBC documentary The Price of Gold – “I don’t care if I die,” which was nominated in the 33rd Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. Mowjood is an NBC News assistant producer.
