The Panther student newspaper has just learned that it has received two prestigious awards in state and national competitions.  In statewide competition, the California Newspaper Publishers Association (CNPA) named The Panther one of the state’s top two university newspapers in the “General Excellence” category that includes finalists at universities with much larger enrollments, including UCLA, UC Santa Cruz and various California State Universities. Nationally, The American Scholastic Press Association awarded The Panther first place for general excellence among college and university publications with 2500 circulation, an honor the Panther has won annually for the last five years.

Please join us in congratulating the 2011-2012 editors: seniors and English/journalism majors Michelle Thomas, Danny Langhorne, Alyssa Duranty, Alex Chamberlain, Taylor Johnson, Ryan Murray, Melody Kleiman, Kevin Lara, Mackenna Waterhouse and juniors Hannah Fry and Lawrence Stevens, along with the entire staff of reporters and photographers whose hard work has brought Chapman University this recognition.
