Wilkinson College’s initiative in Creative and Cultural Industries has led to an invitation to present to the European Union in Washington DC. Addressing delegates from all 28 member states, Dean Patrick Fuery, Dr Kelli Fuery (Dodge College), Natalie Lawler (Arts Preparator) and Shannon Halverson (coordinator of the CCI) spoke on the College’s work in this growing field and plans for future developments. Topics covered included projects in cultural memory and heritage, public art, and screen media.

“This was an excellent opportunity to connect with major figures in the cultural, political, social, and artistic fields”, said Dean Fuery. “It was an honor to be invited to address such a prestigious collective. We are aiming to build a series of collaborative projects with EU partners and individual countries in Europe, forming a set of networks between the US and EU.”

The group also met with a number of individual embassies and are in discussion with joint projects with Spain, France, Germany, the UK, Belgium, and Denmark.
