A Message From the IS&T
November 13, 2024
I am thrilled to have this opportunity to connect with you through the Special IS&T newsletter. As we take a moment to look back on our recent achievements and eagerly anticipate the inspiring projects that lie ahead, I am truly filled with pride for all we have accomplished together and genuinely excited for our future endeavors.
Throughout the past year, we have dedicated ourselves to collaborating with colleagues across campus to implement tools supporting the university’s strategic plan. Some of these efforts include the introduction of Maximus to manage Effort Reporting across the campus, the implementation of Slate as a student CRM in Advising, and piloting of a syllabus tool, Simple Syllabus, in Canvas.
We have also worked diligently to enhance our security measures through improved password management and a comprehensive security awareness program across campus. In collaboration with the Provost, we have actively participated in the AI Task Force, engaging in various initiatives such as piloting Microsoft 365 Copilot and developing resources for use in teaching, learning, and research.
Looking ahead, I am particularly enthusiastic about this year’s partnerships, with a particular focus on data through the Year of Data project, co-led by IRADS, expanded utilization of DocuSign to support functions in the Office of Human Resources, and the enhancement of data dashboards with a specific emphasis on learner analytics. Our focus on data will better prepare us for AI tools as they continue to advance and stabilize in this area.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the IS&T team for their unwavering dedication and the entire campus community for our incredible partnership over the past year. This was exemplified during our open house in February, where over 150 colleagues from across campus visited us in West Palm. We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of seeing you in Spring 2025!
Warm regards,
Helen Norris
