Upcoming Zoom Changes in Classrooms
May 12, 2025
IS&T’s Classroom Technology team is working on enhancing the classroom technology experience. As part of this effort, Zoom meetings will be hosted directly from the Classroom PC instead of the Zoom touchpanel.
Reason for the Change
By centralizing Zoom functionality on the Classroom PC, instructors will benefit from an efficient and seamless experience that aligns more naturally with other digital teaching tools and resources. This approach supports pedagogical continuity and reduces the need to manage multiple interfaces.
Anticipated Benefits
- Streamlined workflow: Launch and manage Zoom meetings directly from the Classroom PC.
- Improved integration: Greater compatibility with presentation software and resources already used on the Classroom PC.
- Enhanced reliability: Minimizes the need to alternate between devices during instruction.
