Professor Hebron Attends CAA Conference

Professor Micol Hebron of the
Art Department
recently attended the
College Art Association Annual Conference
where she curated an exhibition of video art for the ARTspace Media Lounge titled, “Transmediation”.
The exhibition included short form video artworks from fifty-one students selected from ten colleges. The program introduced vibrant, innovative work by a new generation of artists with a fresh perspective and approach to video and digital media.
Participating Schools included: Columbia University; Hunter College, City University of New York; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; New York University; Pratt Institute; Rhode Island School of Design; School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; School of Visual Arts; University of Connecticut; and Yale University.
The video program was screened at Stephan Stoyanov Gallery in Soho on February 12, 2013, and again at the CAA Annual Conference February 13 – 16, 2013.

In addition to curating the exhibition, Professor Hebron was invited to speak on a panel titled, “Performativity, the Performative, and Performance in Contemporary Art” to discuss a paper she wrote about her own performance art work.
