Army Lieutenant

Alumni Ryan S. Lee (Political Science, ’14).

Recently, Alumni Ryan S. Lee (
Political Science ’14
),  was honored at a Commissions Ceremony at Cal State Fullerton as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army (a commissioning ceremony is the culmination of years of study and effort that results in a cadet becoming a commissioned officer and marks the transition from officer trainee to a leader of soldiers).

At 28 years old, Lee has served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as an enlisted soldier after graduating from Mission Viejo High School in 2004.

Lee graduated in May from Chapman University and is now receiving further Army Infantry Officer training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

“Ryan is but one of several that I’ve instructed who are the epitome of what Chapman is trying to mature as future leaders,” said Political Science adjunct professor Mark Chapin.

“I was so honored to be there for his ceremony and when he shared with me that his understanding of the Constitutional foundation of America came alive in our course this spring.”

Congratulations, Ryan!
