present, Tips from the Publishing World presented by Jerry Westby, Publisher with SAGE Publishing on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Laura Scudder Conference Room, Roosevelt Hall 127.

Mr. Westby will discuss topics that include; how to best pitch a book proposal, strategies for marketing, future trends and directions in the publishing world (eBook vs. tradition), and economic considerations. The workshop will be followed by a drop-in session for faculty working on book proposals

About the presenter: Jerry Westby is a  Publisher whose responsibilities include acquiring and managing titles in Criminology and Criminal Justice, as well as select titles in methods for sociology. With over 25 years of successful editorial experience in the educational publishing industry developing books, ancillaries, online and multimedia products, Jerry is eager to work with authors to continue the tradition of first-class, innovative offerings from SAGE.
