Visual Thinker Lecture Series: Amy Adler, Apr. 29

The Visual Thinker Lecture Series presents Professor of Visual Art at the University of San Diego, Amy Adler on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. in Argyros Forum 209C.
Amy had her first one-person museum exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles. This exhibition launched a twenty-year exhibition history that includes solo shows at international galleries such as Acme. Los Angeles, Casey Kaplan New York, Taka Ishii Tokyo, Massimo de Carlo, Milan and Gerhardsen Gerner, Berlin. She has also had several solo museum shows including the Aspen Art Museum, The UCLA Hammer Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego along with hundreds of group shows worldwide.
In the spring of 2005 Twin Palms Press released a monograph of her work entitled, Amy Adler Young Photographer. Other monographs include a children’s book entitled The Rainbow Hour and a solo catalogue produced by the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles. Amy’s work has been reviewed extensively including feature articles in The New York Times, LA Times and the New Yorker as well as reviews in Frieze, Modern Painters and Artforum. Her fall 2014 show is currently reviewed in the March 2015 issue of Art in America. Amy’s work is included in prominent permanent collections including the Deste Foundation, Athens, The Broad Foundation, Los Angeles, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The UCLA Hammer Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles.
